Our Mission

Rooted & Rising Yoga was founded on a simple belief: yoga is for every body, not just the flexible, the experienced, or the already-at-peace. Our studio is a place where showing up is enough to begin.

We offer a range of classes from gentle and restorative to strong and dynamic, led by instructors who take the practice seriously and take themselves lightly. Whether you come for stress relief, strength, community, or all three, you'll find a class and a teacher that fits.

We keep the studio small by design — because yoga is personal, and we'd rather know your name than manage a crowd.

Portrait of Maya Torres

Founder & Lead Instructor

Maya Torres

Maya has been teaching yoga for over a decade, with certifications in Vinyasa, Yin, and Restorative. She founded Rooted & Rising to create a studio that felt genuinely accessible — not just the word, but the reality. Off the mat she's a runner, a reader, and a devoted fan of long dinners.

Portrait of Daniel Park

Instructor — Vinyasa & Power

Daniel Park

Daniel came to yoga through athletics and found it changed the way he understood his body. He teaches dynamic, challenging classes with an emphasis on strength, breath, and having a sense of humor when things fall apart.

Portrait of Priya Nair

Instructor — Gentle, Yin & Restorative

Priya Nair

Priya's teaching draws on her background in somatic therapy and her longtime study of traditional Hatha yoga. Her classes are quiet, unhurried, and surprisingly effective. She also leads the studio's monthly sound bath events.
